Repiano Cornet: Colin Campbell

Started playing: 1966 Cornet then Tenor horn. Taught by my father, Roddy Campbell who played 1st tenor horn in the SCWS band who narrowly missed their chance to win the National Championship in 1958 with a second place playing “ Variations On The Shining River” - Edmund Rubbra.

Previous bands: Heath Band (Heath and Reach Bedfordshire) 1967-1979, Tayport Instrumental Band (Fife Scotland) 1980-1983

Memorable Banding moments: My first area competition Watford 1971 on second horn (aged 9). My first concert on soprano cornet when Eric Capron sat next to me to help out….he was British Solo Champion at the time. Coming second at Preston with Old Hall Brass 3rd February 2008

Favourite piece: Energy - Robert Simpson ; Variations On The Shining River - Edmund Rubbra.

More about : I work as a doctor at Wigan Infirmary.  We also have a family business importing beads and gemstones, and have a shop at 10 Jaxons Court, Wigan.
